Analyzing critical legal trends and developments across data, cyber, AI and digital regulations from around the world and beyond borders

Cyber risk is escalating exponentially as cyber actors target critical infrastructure and supply chain, regulatory frameworks rapidly expand, and civil cyber litigation is on the rise. During these turbulent times, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 expired and liability protections ceased to exist. Organizations face an unprecedented convergence of national security concerns, complex notification requirements, and intensifying legal exposure that demands strategic alignment between security, legal, and executive teams.

In observance of Cyber Awareness Month, Baker McKenzie Partners Justine Phillips, Christa Anderson, William Devaney, Rod Rosenstein and Sumon Dantiki hosted an intimate, client-focused roundtable examining how multinational organizations are building enterprise-wide readiness for today’s most critical cyber challenges. We explored the intersection of information sharing, national security imperatives, government enforcement trends, and litigation risks.

Our expert panelists shared strategic insights on:

  • Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 Expiration. What businesses need to do know about information sharing with no liability protections under CISA 2015.
  • Foreign Intrusions & National Security Response: Given new laws and regulations globally, understanding the importance of attribution, government coordination, and strategic communication when nation-state actors attack your business
  • DOJ Rule & EO14117 Compliance: Practical implementation strategies for new federal cybersecurity requirements and their enforcement implications
  • Enforcement Action Readiness: Building defensive strategies for regulatory investigations and understanding prosecutorial priorities
  • Litigation Risks: Assessing exposure across shareholder, customer, and regulatory actions for “reasonable security”
  • Class Action Trends: Understanding evolving theories of liability and developing proactive risk mitigation strategies

This roundtable offered Legal and InfoSec leaders an hour-long opportunity to benchmark preparedness against industry peers, examine real-world case studies, and develop actionable strategies for building organizational resilience. The session concluded with an interactive discussion for attendees to share challenges and proven solutions.
