On February 20, a global panel of Baker McKenzie’s cyber practitioners will host a webinar providing critical updates on the NIS2 Directive and how these major new laws in the EU impact organizations.
This roundtable discussion will convene legal and InfoSec professionals to share essential updates on the NIS2 Directive — now in effect and implemented in some EU Member States — and provide a roadmap for legal and security requirements, liability (which extends to management liability for non-compliance), extraterritorial application, compliance and strategies. During our interactive session, attendees can ask questions and hear how other organizations are approaching NIS2 compliance.
What is NIS2? NIS2 is an EU Directive (which requires EU Member States to adopt local laws to implement it) requiring certain types of businesses considered “important entities” or “essential entities” to implement specific cybersecurity measures and to be more transparent about cyber incidents and report cyber incidents within 24-72 hours. NIS2 aims to bolster the overall level of cyber resilience across Member States and any entities that do business with them. These obligations require entities register with Member States, adopt comprehensive incident reporting processes, robust risk management practices, corporate accountability measures, and effective business continuity strategies. With registration deadlines already in effect, it’s a critical milestone for companies to ensure they meet the new compliance standards and avoid significant penalties and individual liability.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get up to speed on this new law and ensure your company is prepared.
We’ll cover:
- What the NIS2 Directive means for your organization
- The crucial registration deadlines for compliance
- Key requirements and the consequences of non-compliance
The session will conclude with an interactive discussion to allow attendees to ask questions and exchange ideas. Chatham House Rule will apply, so please participants can feel free to pose questions and share insights with other attendees. For more information and to register, please click here
